Prayer Data Should Stay as Private as Possible.
This Privacy Policy explains how Predah collects, uses, and protects information when you use Predah, the website on predah.app, and related support pages.
1. Information we collect
The app is designed to keep the core prayer experience under your control and local-first whenever possible.
- Local and iCloud app data: Prayer history, mood check-ins, reminders, app preferences, and onboarding/profile data stored in the app's data store on your device and, when iCloud is available for your Apple ID, synced through your private iCloud database. This includes fields such as your name, selected language, denomination, age range, prayer frequency, goals, barriers, relationship-with-God answers, thriving-faith selection, deeper struggles, gender, reminder times, unlock duration, program length, quiet hours, and local subscription cache state. Prayer journal content is not intentionally sent to analytics, and Screen Time selections are designed to stay on-device unless you choose to share them with support.
- Screen Time data: App-blocking selections and related Screen Time configuration, when you grant those permissions. This data stays on-device and is managed by Apple.
- Subscription data: Subscription and purchase status information handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We receive entitlement status, offering/package identifiers, restore status, and purchase result information, but not your payment card details.
- Analytics and diagnostics data: Product analytics, allowed Firebase / GA4 events, purchase-conversion events, app lifecycle events, and error diagnostic events processed through PostHog and Firebase. This may include device type, OS version, app version, anonymous identifiers such as an app instance ID or RevenueCat anonymous app user ID, event names, screen names, language settings, onboarding step metadata, selected quiz/onboarding answer values, paywall/package metadata, purchase result metadata, and crash or exception details. We do not intentionally send prayer journal text, blocked app selections, or payment card details to analytics.
- Support correspondence: Emails or messages that you send to us directly.
2. How we use information
- To run the prayer flow, reminders, prayer journal, and premium access logic.
- To confirm subscription entitlement and restore purchases.
- To understand app reliability, onboarding funnels, feature usage, and purchase conversion performance so the app can improve over time.
- To answer support and privacy questions.
3. Permissions
The app may ask for the following permissions, depending on the feature you use:
- Notifications: Used to deliver prayer reminders at the times you choose. You can disable this in iOS Settings at any time.
- Screen Time / Family Controls: Used to enable app blocking and temporary unlock behavior. This permission is required for the blocking feature to work. Data managed by this framework stays on-device under Apple's control.
- Local storage: Used for prayer progress, settings, and subscription cache.
Predah asks for permissions during the setup or feature flows that need them, such as reminders or app blocking. You can change these permissions later in iOS Settings.
4. Tracking and App Tracking Transparency
Predah does not display ads and does not use the IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) in the current PostHog, RevenueCat, and Firebase setup.
We do not use analytics data to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. If a future measurement setup uses IDFA or any form of tracking that falls under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we will request your permission before collecting such data.
5. Third-party services
Some data may be processed by service providers that help operate the product:
- Apple: Processes App Store purchases, subscription billing, and manages Screen Time permissions. Apple Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: May process subscription entitlement and restore-purchase information. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- PostHog: Processes product analytics, app lifecycle events, and error diagnostic events. PostHog Privacy Policy.
- Google / Firebase / GA4: Processes allowed app analytics events, app instance identifiers, and purchase-conversion measurement events. Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security.
These services operate under their own privacy policies and retention practices.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information when reasonably necessary to operate purchases, analytics, diagnostics, conversion measurement, security, or support.
7. Retention and deletion
Local app content remains on your device until you remove the app or clear the relevant data through iOS Settings.
Analytics and diagnostic data is retained according to the settings and retention practices of PostHog and Firebase, and generally for no longer than 24 months for product improvement and measurement purposes unless a longer period is required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Subscription records are retained as long as required by Apple and RevenueCat for billing, fraud prevention, restoration, tax, accounting, and compliance purposes.
Support correspondence is retained for up to 12 months after the last interaction.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data. For local data, uninstalling the app removes it. For server-side data, contact us at [email protected].
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your data for specific purposes.
- Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
9. International users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, we process your data based on the following legal bases: consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, and legal obligations.
For California residents: We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any future sale of personal information.
10. Children's privacy
Predah is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support channels, contact us and we will review and delete the data.
11. Data security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information. Local data is stored using iOS standard data protection. Network communications use HTTPS encryption. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The latest version will always be published on this page. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or via email where possible.
13. Contact
Privacy questions, data requests, or complaints can be sent to [email protected].
We aim to respond within 30 days of receiving your request.
